Composting the love for Autumn

What lies beneath the richness of the falling copper leaves of autumn?

What lies beneath the richness of the falling copper leaves of autumn?

What is composting now, moving into the Winter and ready to sprout again in the Spring?

As I bury my beloved friend of 12 years beneath the earth and honour his immense loyalty and conviction to stay close, alert and always at the ready, I wonder what my dear Springer Spaniel can teach me in his departure and physical absence.

I know that I miss him terribly. I know that he was dutiful to the family system. And I know that he was so eternally present, in the moment, of every heartbeat, every gust of wind, every rustle in the grass. He brought with him the same presence that children do when they are in their element and flow - creative and uninhibited and heart-centred.

I will forever be filled with gratitude at Hector’s intensity of present moment and heart connection. A true companion.

May his gifts compost through the Autumn, lay dormant yet preparing for new growth in the family, in our Wildlings family and in our hearts, ready to grow new shoots through the Spring, bearing fruit into the Summer and beyond. 🐕
